Features

User Interface: #

  • The extension provides a user interface (UI) that allows users to interact with its functionalities. 
  • The UI includes buttons for starting, pausing, as well as deleting the recorded steps. 
  • Additionally, there is a user web app to display the recorded steps and their corresponding details.

Start Recording: #

  • When the user clicks the “Start Capture” button, the extension begins capturing the user’s actions. 
  • It tracks mouse clicks, button presses, and any other relevant user interactions on the current webpage. 

Pause Recording: #

  • If the user wants to pause the recording process temporarily, they can click the “Pause” button. 
  • While paused, the extension stops capturing further actions but keeps the existing steps intact. 

Resume Recording: #

When the user clicks the “Resume” button after pausing, the extension continues capturing the user’s actions from where it left off. 

Complete Recording: #

  • To finalize the recording and generate the step guide, the user clicks the “Complete  Recording” button. 
  • The extension stops capturing actions and proceeds to process the recorded steps. 

Generate Step Guide: #

  • Once the recording is complete, the extension takes the captured steps and organizes them into a step guide format. 
  • It creates a structured document that includes the recorded actions, and any additional details provided by the user. 

Delete Document: #

  • If the user wants to remove the generated step guide, they can click the “Delete Document” button. 
  • The extension will stop recording and the document will be deleted. 

After stopping the recording, the user is redirected to the Kopyst web app, where they can further enhance the generated document. The web app provides several editing features to customize the document according to the user’s preferences. 

  • Edit Document Structure:Users can modify the document structure by adding new steps, tips, headers, and alerts. 
  • Edit Document Title: Users have the option to change the title of the document. They can provide a more descriptive or relevant title that accurately represents the content of the guide.  
  • Edit Step Descriptions: Users can edit the descriptions of individual steps to provide clearer instructions or additional details. They can refine the wording, add more context, or include any necessary explanations to make the guide more informative and user-friendly.  
  • Edit Screenshots: The web app provides an integrated screenshot editor, allowing users to modify existing screenshots. Users can annotate the screenshots with text, arrows, highlights, or other graphical elements to draw attention to specific areas or provide visual cues. Additionally, users can attach new screenshots to the document if needed.  
  • Document Statistics: The web app provides statistics related to the document. Users can view the creation date of the document, the number of steps created, and details about the author who created the document. Additionally, the app displays the last updated date, providing information about the document’s most recent modifications. 

Overall, these editing features empower users to refine the generated document, add additional information, enhance visuals, and personalize the guide according to their specific requirements. 

Certainly! In addition to the editing features, the Kopyst web app provides several options for document sharing and access management, as well as exporting capabilities: 

  1. Export as PDF and HTML: Users can export the document in PDF or HTML format. This allows them to save a local copy of the guide or share it with others outside of the web app environment. 
  2. Share via Email: Users have the ability to share the document directly via email. They can enter the recipient’s email address and send the guide as an attachment or a link. 
  3. Copy Document Link: The web app allows users to copy a shareable link to the document. This link can be shared with others through various communication channels, such as messaging apps or collaboration platforms. 
  4. Access Management: Users can manage the access permissions for the document. They can set different levels of access, such as read-only or edit access, for specific individuals or groups. This ensures that only authorized users can make changes to the document or view its contents.
  5. By offering export options, email sharing, document links, and access management, Kopyst enables users to easily distribute their created guides to others in various formats while maintaining control over who can access and modify the documents.
